Dateline: January 26, 2014  UO vs Washington (108-85) W

"EUGENE, Ore.  - Behind sophomore Jillian Alleyne’s incredible performance, Oregon strung a second straight Pac-12 win together with a victory against Washington. The Ducks ran past the Huskies, 101-85, Sunday at Matthew Knight Arena.

"Alleyne tallied season-highs with 35 points and 25 rebounds and had a career-high five assists, providing the answer to any potential Washington (10-9, 3-5 Pac-12) challenge. After topping Washington State on Friday for its first conference win, Oregon (11-8, 2-6 Pac-12) secured a home sweep of the Washington schools."

Glance Back - The Dividing Line

It was the best of times, and the worst of times last season for the UO WBB team.  Rob Moseley's article, "Book Closes on UO Season," sums up the highs and lows of the 2013-14 season well.

Pac-12 record were shattered.  NCAA records were broken.  Multiple players were name 'Player of the Week' multiple times.  (Read more details here.)  There was no doubt that we had an extraordinary group of outstanding athletes.  There was no doubt that we were doing a lot of things right.  Per Rob Moseley "Oregon set school and conference records with 93.2 points and 51.0 rebounds per game this season, and with 301 made three-pointers."

Indeed, UO WBB started the 2013-14 season flush with hope after winning 9 of the pre-conference games, 7 of them in triple digits.  Once into Pac-12 Conference play we lost 6 games in a row -  half just by mere baskets - putting a damper on the New Year spirits.  Scrappy players clawed their way back into the fray splitting the rest of the dozen Pac-12 games with 6 wins and 6 loses culminating the win in the 1st round of the WNIT.

Scroll down to read some of the highlights of the 2013-14 Season.  And then look forward with us to what's in store for the 2014-15 Season.

Go Ducks!

140126-wash-3659-webPer GoDucks.com... "A couple of major milestones could be reached on Monday night. Freshman guard Chrishae Rowe needs just 20 points to match the Oregon single-season scoring record of 693 points. Alleyne is also close, needing only 26 points.

"Alleyne also has a chance to become the fifth player in NCAA history to reach 500 rebounds in a single-season. The sophomore currently has a Pac-12 and Oregon record 494 rebounds and needs 45 more boards to match the NCAA single-season record."
