Is it too soon to be excited about the coming UO Women's Basketball season?

NOT AT ALL!!! Our incoming recruits as of November had us ranked 6th in the nation. Now with Sabrina Ionescu's signing the sky is the limit. And you know how our Ducks love to fly!

The UO Fast Break Club is your front row seat to making the new players feel welcome and supported in the Eugene community. The 2015-2016 season UO FBC members will be treated to our annual summer BBQ with the team including the new recruits and coaching staff this coming August just before the team's trip to their summer exhibition game in Spain. This Annual BBQ is the Fast Break Club's pinnacle perk for the preceding year's members.

Find out more about the perks for the 2015-16 membership here.

Any way you cut it, this was a good year.  Some bumps and bruises, yes.  But a 24-11 season, just one win shy of a school single-season record is definitely a good year.

At the 2015-16 Banquet the tv monitors in the McArthur Club scrolled through image upon image of special plays and memorable moments.  While those weren't photos from the UO Fast Break Club, here is our collection of winning shots from the year.

Remember Maite Cazorla's cartwheel thanks to a USC player's foul? Remember Kat Cooper's accidental almost-headlock of a Long Beach State player under the basket?  Or the bench's reaction to the mix-up with the ref's when Katie Gruys went to throw the ball back in?

We caught it all.  Watch it right here:  http://bit.ly/2015-16uoWBB

In a day or two I will post individual photos on our Flickr gallery pages (https://www.flickr.com/photos/uofastbreakclub/albums) for easy access to your favorite shots.

UPDATE: Jillian traded to Connecticut Sun! Jillian Alleyne was picked in Round 2 by the Phoenix Mercury!

160414 ODE photoUPDATE 6/26/2016:  The Connecticut Sun announced today it has acquired rookie Courtney Williams and the draft rights to Jillian Alleyne, as well as a second round pick in the 2017 WNBA Draft in a trade that sends Kelsey Bone to the Phoenix Mercury.

Read more here:  http://sun.wnba.com/news/sun-trade-bone-phoenix-williams-alleyne-2017-draft-pick/

"Alleyne went 20th overall to the Phoenix Mercury, becoming the highest-picked Oregon player in WNBA Draft history."
    Jonathan Hawthorne,
    Daily Emerald

Jillian will be joining the likes of Brittney Griner and Diana Taurasi in Phoenix!  Mercury GM Jim Pitman: “Jillian’s career at Oregon speaks for itself. … She’s someone who has first round talent."

We all knew that.  It's wonderful to see that her season-ending injury did not end her WNBA prospects.  There is no word for 'quit' in Alleyne's vocabulary and she will work just as hard at rehab as she would on the court.  That work ethic and can-do attitude will serve her well fitting into the Phoenix Mercury's game plans.

You can follow Jilly-O's progress on Twitter at @SuperrJaay.

And from everyone at the UO Fast Break Club, "CONGRATULATIONS JILLIAN!"  We will love watching your career take off!
