10/4/2019 Tip from Carol James: My travel agent found a pair of Southwest flights from PDX to Oakland and returning from San Jose for $140 per person for the February weekend for the Cal and Stanford games. An alternative for the Stanford game, which is a Monday night game, is to go down on Amtrak leaving Eugene on Sunday, Feb 23, at 5:10 pm, arriving in San Jose at 9:55 am Feb 24, leaving SJ on Tuesday, Feb 25 at 8:23 pm, arriving in Eugene on Wednesday, Feb 25 at 12:29 pm. These seats are currently going for $170 per person round trip. Added: Women in Flight may have an event in the Bay Area related to these games/list weekend. Stay tuned for details.
The Bay Area offers a convenient way to catch two WBB games. If you find a friend to carpool and share costs, it is a reasonable (8-9h) drive each way. Stanford and Cal campuses are about 40 miles apart (~1h). Stanford is near the southern side of the Bay, while Cal/Berkley is north of Oakland.
The Bay area is one of the few places easy to fly from Eugene. There are many flight to SFO (United has direct flights). Allegiant offers limited direct flights between EUG and OAK (Oakland International Airport). There are numerous mass-transit options around the Bay (such as BART), but BART does not go near to Stanford. If you don't have a car, you may want to Uber/Lyft/Taxi.
